What to confirm before ordering
- Valerian has a strong odor that can migrate through some packaging. Ask about low-odor grades and barrier packaging.
- Specify whether the marker is valerenic acid alone or total valerenic acids; the two numbers are not comparable.

Buyer questions
Practical answers
Which specification options are available for valerian root extract?
Valerenic acids: 0.8% (HPLC); Plant part: Root; Extraction: Water–ethanol; Particle size: 80 mesh. Other ratios, marker ranges, carriers, and mesh sizes can be quoted as a custom grade after a feasibility review.
Which documents are supplied with the batch?
A batch-specific COA, technical data sheet, SDS, allergen and GMO statements, and an origin record. Third-party heavy-metal, pesticide, or microbiological reports can be arranged, as can Halal, Kosher, or organic certificates where the grade is covered.
What is the minimum order and lead time?
1 kg minimum, packed in a 1 kg foil pouch; bulk drums are available as quantities scale. 1–7 days after specification and order confirmation. Custom specifications take longer because analytical release is part of the run.
Can we test a sample before ordering?
Yes. Samples are typically 100–500 g and are dispatched with their own COA once the specification is agreed, usually within 3–5 business days. Keep half of the sample so you can compare it with the production lot.
